Uniform of Major S Boulderson 17th Lancers 1879, Ulundi South Africa This uniform is the typical Officers Foreign service dress uniform of the period, as worn in South Africa during the Zulu wars. The uniform is the same for Home service but the White Foreign Service helmet is worn. The white front or plastron to give it its true name would be folded back for 'Marching order'. This uniform has been thoroughly researched with help from the Queens Royal Lancers Museum, and is accurate in almost every detail. The uniform Jacket and Trousers was made to order by Replicaters.com in India, at a price of approximately. £125. Most of the Accessories/ accoutrements were obtained from The Thin Red Line.
