Uniform of 17th Lancers Officer 1879, Home Service This uniform is the typical Officers Home service dress uniform of the period. The white front or plastron to give it its true name would be folded back for 'Marching order'. This uniform has been thoroughly researched with help from the Queens Royal Lancers Museum, and is accurate in almost every detail. The uniform Jacket and Trousers was made to order by Replicaters.com in India, at a price of approximately. £125. Most of the Accessories/ accoutrements were obtained from The Thin Red Line. I have just finished making a home service Chapzka or lance cap. Click here for pictures etc.
